MANILA, Philippines—TNT escaped Platinum Karaoke, 20-17, to win the grand finals of the PBA 3×3 Season 2 First Conference at Robinson’s Place Novaliches on Sunday.
With the score tied at 17, veterans Gryann Mendoza and Almond Vosotros made the clutch plays for the Tropang Giga, who became the first team to claim two conference titles.
“Just in practice, we take everything seriously. We had to make sure we stayed focused if we wanted to repeat what we did last conference,” said TNT coach Mau Belen.
Joining Tropang Giga and Platinum on the podium were the Cavitex Braves, who defeated Meralco 3×3 in the battle for third, 16-11.
Vosotros, who finished the tourney with 263 points, bagged the Smart Top Scorer plum, beating J&T’s Joseph Sedurifa (190) and Cavitex’s Bong Galanza (173).
TNT took home P750,000 while Platinum pocketed P250,000.
