The Sharjah Police General Command commemorated Martyr’s Day by observing a minute of silence for the pure souls of the martyrs, led by His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, Major General Saif Al-Zari Al-Shamsi, in recognition of their sacrifices in the elevation of the homeland and defending its protectors, and praying for mercy and forgiveness for them.

The Martyr’s Day ceremony, which was attended by the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, general directors, deputies, department directors and leadership employees, began with the state flag being flown at half mast and then re-raised.

Major General Saif Al-Zari Al-Shamsi said: “On this glorious day, we stand in honor of those men who voluntarily gave their immortal souls, sacrificing for the homeland and defending its soil, so that the flag of the Emirates remains high and majestic always and forever.”

He added, “This day will remain a shining light and an illuminating path for future generations, so that they know that protecting the homeland is a duty and dignity, and dying for it is a medal of pride, honor and advancement.”
